Paperback books are more fragile than hard back books. When storing on a bookshelf, it's best to lay them down in a pile rather than stand them up for the pages to curl. Also, we tend often to fold the cover back like a spiral notebook. Paperback books don't have a spiral spine to support their pages. Too much backwards folding might cause the pages to start separating from the spine, so take good care of your books, and they will last for generations of readers. If you avoid direct sunlight, the pages will not yellow soon.
